Tried with 18.0.4 -> 18.1.0

Anarchy Online runs great on wine, really. It's almost perfect.

But, when it comes to patching, it fails bigtime. I get "An unsupported operation was attempted" all the time.

And patching manually with separate exe-files won't work either. So, what to do?

Well, there is a very different way; install vmware, install XP and then patch from there. Copy the files back to the place where you have the Linux-AO, and run. Instead of ripping your hair off your head.
